If you contact Unsnag or book a discovery call, I may receive your name, email address, company details and anything you choose to share about the business.
I use this information to respond to your enquiry, prepare for and hold the discovery call, and, where relevant, discuss or deliver work you ask me to undertake. For enquiries and pre-contract discussions, the lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where a paid engagement is agreed, processing necessary to deliver that work is based on performance of the contract. Business records may also be retained where necessary to meet legal or accounting obligations.
If you book a discovery call, I may review publicly available professional and business information before the call. This may include information from your company website, public company records, business profiles and public professional profiles. The information may include a person's name, role, professional history or other business information where it is relevant to understanding how the company operates.
I use this information to prepare for the call and form preliminary business hypotheses. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: my interest in preparing properly for a requested business conversation and avoiding unnecessary collection of internal company data at this stage. I do not treat preliminary hypotheses as established facts.
If you accept analytics, this site uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the site. This may include pages viewed, traffic source, device and browser information, approximate location and interactions such as clicks on discovery-call links.
Analytics is optional. Google Analytics is not loaded by this site unless you accept analytics. I do not intentionally send names, email addresses or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics. Unsnag uses analytics to understand site use and improve the website, not for advertising or behavioural profiling.
The use of optional analytics storage is based on your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time through . See the Cookies page for more information.
I use third-party services where needed to operate the website and business. These include Google Analytics for optional website analytics, Cal.com for scheduling, Google Workspace for email and calendar, and the website hosting and delivery provider. These providers may process personal data on my behalf or, for some parts of their services, under their own privacy terms.
Some service providers may process data outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, I rely on the transfer arrangements provided by the relevant service provider and applicable UK transfer mechanisms. You can contact me if you want more information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
Enquiries and discovery-call information that do not lead to paid work are normally kept for up to 12 months, unless there is a reason to keep them for longer. Records connected with paid work may be kept for up to 6 years where needed for contractual, legal, tax or accounting purposes. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings configured in Google Analytics. I review retention when the purpose for keeping information changes.
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have rights to access your personal data, correct it, ask for it to be deleted, restrict its use, receive certain data in a portable format, or object to processing.
If I process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interests, you have the right to object to that processing.
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
