What information is collected and why?
Messages and enquiries. If you email me or contact me on LinkedIn, I may receive your name, business contact details, company, website and information you choose to provide. I use this to answer you and consider whether work is appropriate. The legal basis is legitimate interests in dealing with business enquiries or, if you ask me to take steps towards a contract, pre-contractual necessity. Please do not include sensitive personal information, confidential CRM exports, supplier proposals or passwords in an initial message.
Public business information. In preparing for a requested conversation, I may read your company website, public business records and relevant professional profiles. This can include business contact information and other publicly available professional details. The legal basis is legitimate interests in understanding the enquiry. Public information is not treated as proof of internal business conditions.
Client and engagement records. If an engagement is agreed, I may process relevant contact information, correspondence, invoices and the business records covered by the written scope. The basis will depend on the purpose: contract, legal obligations or legitimate interests. Where I handle personal data on a client's instructions, the roles, security measures and any processor terms are agreed separately before receiving such data.
Website delivery and security. When the site is requested, the hosting and security provider may process IP addresses, request dates, URLs, browser details and security information in server or network logs. This helps deliver the website and identify abuse. The basis for personal data processing is legitimate interests in operating a reliable and secure service. Such network information is distinct from optional Google Analytics.
Optional analytics. If you select Accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 can receive page views, approximate device information, referral information and events such as visits to service pages or clicks leading to LinkedIn. Consent is the basis for storing/accessing optional analytics information on your device and for the related analytics processing. GA is not loaded by this site's own code before your consent. I do not intentionally send names, email addresses, message text or CRM records to Google Analytics. The site is not using GA for advertising audiences.
Which services may receive data?
This website uses service providers for hosting, security and, if you opt in, analytics. Correspondence is handled separately from website visits. Fonts are drawn from your device's installed system fonts; this site does not request Google Fonts.
Cloudflare (site hosting and security). This build is configured for Cloudflare Pages. If deployed there, Cloudflare may receive IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, browser information and security-related request details to deliver and protect the site. This is separate from optional analytics.
Google Analytics 4 (optional visitor statistics). The site's code loads GA4 only after the visitor accepts analytics. It may receive page views, browser and device information and navigation events, including clicks to LinkedIn. The site does not use an embedded advertising pixel or intentionally send message contents to GA4.
Business email provider (correspondence). The service handling messages to yulia@unsnag.co.uk may process message contents, email addresses and delivery information to provide and secure email. You can contact me to ask which provider currently operates this email service.
LinkedIn (external platform). If you follow a LinkedIn link or contact me there, you leave this website and LinkedIn handles your interactions under its own Privacy Policy. Unsnag does not embed a LinkedIn tracking pixel or feed.
International processing
Cloudflare and Google provide services internationally. Technical request data and, where you opt in, analytics data may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States. Where an arrangement amounts to a restricted international transfer under UK GDPR, it needs a valid UK transfer mechanism. Depending on the recipient and circumstances, this may be UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for eligible US recipients) or contractual safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Agreement. The applicable transfer mechanism depends on the recipient, service and contractual arrangements. Information about Cloudflare's published Data Processing Addendum and Google's published transfer frameworks is available from those providers. How long is data kept?
Initial enquiries that do not become engagements are normally kept for up to 12 months, subject to a specific reason to retain them for longer. Engagement, financial or contractual records may be retained for up to six years where needed for contractual, accounting, tax or legal purposes. Google Analytics data is subject to the retention period configured in the GA4 property. Cloudflare and other service providers retain technical logs in line with their applicable settings and policies; their exact log-retention periods should be checked against the live service configuration. I review retained information when its purpose changes.
Cookies and visitor choices
The website saves your analytics preference in your browser's local storage, under unsnag_analytics_consent. Analytics is optional and remains off unless accepted. You can change or withdraw your choice using . See the Cookies page for further details. An outgoing LinkedIn click takes you to an external platform and does not itself send the content of any LinkedIn message to Unsnag's analytics.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the applicable legal basis and circumstances, you can request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing. You have a right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
